About Maximin Grünhaus
Maximin Grünhaus developed as an outlying estate of the Benedictine monastery of Saint Maximin in Trier. Following secularisation, it passed into private ownership and later into the family now represented by Maximin and Amelie von Schubert.
Its celebrated estate vineyards are Abtsberg, Herrenberg and Bruderberg, three neighbouring monopole sites in the Ruwer valley. Alongside these site-specific wines, the Maximin range draws from vineyards in both the Mosel and Ruwer, offering an accessible introduction to the producer’s fresh, precise style.
In the vineyard
FAIR’N GREEN-certified sustainability at the estate, with cover crops, careful canopy management and close attention to grape health. The Maximin range draws on Mosel and Ruwer vineyards following the producer’s philosophy.
In the cellar
Natural yeast fermentation is central to the estate style. Traditional oak fuder and stainless steel are used to preserve the distinct character of individual lots. Maturation depends on the wine and vintage.
Cave on Maximin Grünhaus
Riesling with clarity, freshness and a strong sense of origin. Maximin offers an approachable off-dry introduction, while the estate’s vineyard wines explore the detail of the Ruwer.
