These Terms of Service set out the basis on which you may use the Cave website, place orders with us, book tables, buy event tickets or otherwise interact with us online.
By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms.
Cave is a wine merchant, bistro and bar based at:
Cave
286 Gloucester Road
Bristol

United Kingdom
You can contact us at:
In these terms, “Cave”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Cave. “You” and “your” refer to the person using the website or placing an order.
You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol from Cave.
By placing an order for wine or any other alcoholic product, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that the alcohol is being purchased for yourself or for another person aged 18 or over.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order if we believe it has been placed by, or is intended for, someone under the age of 18.
Where required, age checks may be carried out before an order is accepted, released, collected or delivered. If suitable proof of age cannot be provided, the order may be refused or cancelled.
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes.
You must not misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation, introduce malicious software, attempt unauthorised access, scrape the site in a way that affects performance, or use the website in a way that could damage Cave or other users.
We may update, suspend or withdraw parts of the website at any time.
We try to make sure that product descriptions, prices, images, vintages, stock information and availability are accurate.
However, wine is a changing product. Vintages, labels, bottle formats, stock levels and packaging may occasionally differ from what is shown online.
If a specific vintage or bottle detail is especially important to you, please contact us before ordering.
Images on the website are for guidance only and may not always show the exact vintage, label or packaging currently available.
All prices are shown in pounds sterling.
Prices may change from time to time. The price you pay is the price shown at checkout when your order is placed.
If we discover an obvious pricing error, we may cancel the order and refund you, or contact you to ask whether you would like to proceed at the correct price.
Delivery charges, where applicable, will be shown before you complete checkout.
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to buy the products in your basket.
Your order is not accepted until we have confirmed it or begun preparing it for dispatch or collection.
We may refuse or cancel an order where:
the product is unavailable
there has been an obvious pricing or stock error
payment has not been authorised
we cannot verify age where required
we suspect fraud, misuse or unlawful activity
delivery cannot be made to the address provided
the order breaches these terms
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund you.
Payment is handled securely by our payment providers. We do not store your full card details.
We deliver to the areas and destinations shown on our website at checkout.
Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
You are responsible for providing accurate delivery information. We are not responsible for delays, failed deliveries or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery details.
Alcohol deliveries must be received by someone aged 18 or over. If delivery cannot be completed safely or lawfully, the parcel may be returned to us.
Risk in the goods passes to you once the order has been delivered to the address you provided, collected by you, or received by someone on your behalf.
If Click & Collect is available, you will be told when your order is ready to collect.
Please do not come to collect your order until you have received confirmation that it is ready.
We may ask for your order confirmation, payment card or proof of identity before releasing the order. Alcohol will only be released to someone aged 18 or over.
Your rights to cancel, return items or request a refund are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
If you change your mind about an online order, you may have the right to cancel within the legal cancellation period. Returned bottles must be unopened, in resaleable condition and packaged securely.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect items will be dealt with in line with our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Wine can occasionally be faulty or out of condition. If you believe a bottle is corked, oxidised, refermenting or otherwise faulty, please contact us promptly at hello@cavebristol.co.uk.
Please keep the bottle and remaining contents, as we may need to inspect or collect it before confirming a fault.
Older and mature wines can vary from bottle to bottle. Age, cork condition, storage history and natural development can all affect how a wine shows. Mature wines are sold with this in mind.
From time to time, we may sell tickets for tastings, dinners or other events.
Event tickets are subject to the details shown on the event page at the time of booking.
Unless stated otherwise, event tickets are only refundable if we cancel the event or if we are able to resell your place.
If you can no longer attend, please contact us as soon as possible and we will let you know what options are available.
We may need to change event details, including wines, menus, producers, timings or speakers, where necessary.
Table bookings may be handled through our website, by email, by phone, in person or through a booking partner such as OpenTable.
When you make a booking, you agree to provide accurate contact details and to let us know if you need to cancel or change your reservation.
Table reservations are for diners. Bar seating may be available for drinks on a walk-in basis.
We may cancel or amend bookings where necessary, including in cases of error, closure, staff illness, private hire, operational issues or circumstances outside our control.
Gift vouchers, promotional codes and discount codes are subject to the terms shown at the time they are issued.
Discount codes cannot usually be exchanged for cash, used retrospectively, combined with other offers or applied to delivery charges unless stated otherwise.
We may withdraw, amend or refuse a discount code where it has been misused, issued in error, expired or used outside its intended terms.
If you sign up to our mailing list, we may send you emails about new wines, events, tastings, food, offers and Cave news.
