At Cave, we serve food and wines sourced from small-scale and sustainable producers
Our aim is to provide our neighbourhood and local food community in Bristol with a place to perch for a quick glass, stock up on provisions or sit with friends for an entire evening of eating and drinking.
Find us on the longest street of independent shops in the UK, Gloucester Road in Bristol or shop online for same-day local delivery or nationwide shipping.
Our bar is a relaxed space where our guests can visit for a glass of wine or a few small plates. Inspired by the Parisian caves à manger, a revolutionary dining concept now well-established in the French capital, which offer deli-style dishes alongside an extensive well-sourced, organic or biodynamic wine selections, all at affordable prices.
Walk-ins are always welcome. For group bookings please email us.
What’s in store?
We love food almost as much as we love wine, so alongside our extensive wine, beer, soft and cider collection, we stock a range of provisions from our favourite British and European producers, which are available to order online or in-person from our deli.
We only source products from small-batch producers and growers who put sustainability at the forefront, who look after the land and put lots of love and attention into their wares.
We offer three subscription boxes containing wines that have been hand-picked by Martin and our team. Each case includes wines that we particularly love and that we want to share with you. We will also provide you with tasting cards which we hope will give you a greater depth to the learning and tasting experience.
More about us
Cave opened on Gloucester Road in March 2020 as a wine bar, shop and deli serving food and wine sourced from small-scale sustainable producers.
Founded by Martin Hagen, a wine specialist and hospitality veteran, as a multipurpose space, aiming to provide the neighbourhood and local food community with a place to perch for a quick glass, stock up on provisions or sit with friends for an entire evening of eating and drinking. Cave takes inspiration from the Parisian ‘caves à manger’ which are renowned for serving deli-style dishes alongside well-sourced wines at affordable prices.
Every other Tuesday, Martin and the Cave team host a wine focussing on different countries, regions or styles of wine with the aim to explore a range of rare wines that are not available to buy elsewhere in the city. Cave occasionally also hosts curated events with local restaurants, chefs and producers whose items are stocked in its shop.
