A broader south-west map
The south-west is not just an extension of Bordeaux. Tannat, Malbec, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng and local blends give the area its own identity, from firm reds to bright, aromatic whites and sweet wines with serious acidity.
Food and structure
These wines are often useful with richer food: steak, duck, lamb, mushrooms, cassoulet, hard cheese and roasted vegetables. The best bottles have enough freshness to keep the structure in balance.
