Spotlight on some of Burgundy's finest

Burgundy is a wine lover's paradise, with its rolling hills, picturesque vineyards, and world-renowned wines. Among the many talented winemakers in this region, here are some of our favourites: Yann Durieux, Philippe Pacalet, Sylvain pataille, Antoine Lienhardt, and Goisot.

Yann Durieux is a rising star in the Burgundy wine world. He took over his family's winery in Gevrey-Chambertin in 2010 and has quickly made a name for himself with his high-quality, terroir-driven wines. Durieux is known for his use of organic and biodynamic farming practices, and for his experimentation with different grape varieties and winemaking techniques. He has a playful and curious approach to winemaking, always pushing the boundaries and trying new things.

Philippe Pacalet is another innovative winemaker in Burgundy. His winery is based in Gevrey-Chambertin, and he produces wines from a variety of vineyards in the region. Pacalet is known for his minimalist approach to winemaking, using only wild yeasts and minimal sulfur, and allowing the terroir to shine through in his wines. He is also one of the few winemakers in Burgundy to work with the grape variety Gamay, which is more commonly associated with the Beaujolais region.

Antoine Lienhardt is a young and talented winemaker who took over his family's winery in Meursault in 2008. He is known for his focus on terroir and his use of traditional winemaking techniques, such as whole-cluster fermentation. Lienhardt's wines are elegant and refined, with a strong sense of place. He is also a very charismatic and friendly person, who makes visiting his winery an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Sylvain Pataille is a winemaker of the highest caliber, crafting wines with a unique sense of terroir and a distinct expression of the grape varieties he works with. His wines are elegant, nuanced, and possess a certain je ne sais quoi that sets them apart from the rest. Pataille's vineyards are located in the heart of Marsannay, a village in the Côte d'Or region of Burgundy, and his winemaking philosophy is centered around minimal intervention and allowing the grapes to truly express themselves. His wines are a true reflection of the land from which they come and are a testament to the skill and dedication of this master winemaker.

Finally, we have Goisot, a winery that has been in the family for over 150 years. Goisot's wines are made from grapes grown in the Chablis region, which is known for its unique terroir and its wines made from the Chardonnay grape. Goisot's wines are fresh, minerally and have a great acidity.

All four of these winemakers are producing some of the most exciting and unique wines in Burgundy, and they are all worth seeking out. Whether you're a wine aficionado or just looking for a fun and interesting day trip, visiting their wineries and tasting their wines is sure to be a memorable experience.
