The grapes are processed by semi-carbonic maceration and ferment in cement tanks; a process that seeks to highlight the character of the land and variety. Delicious fruitiness that’s accompanied by light volume and a mellow finish. We recommend serving lightly chilled.
Notes on the producer
Chateau Cambon, situated in Beaujolais, is a renowned winery known for its dedication to crafting exceptional, natural wines. Initially established by Marcel Lapierre, in association with Jean-Claude Chanudet, and continued by his daughter Marie Lapierre, the estate is a staunch advocate for organic farming and minimal intervention winemaking. The vines are located mainly in Morgon although there is a small parcel of vines in Cotes du Py. The average age of the vines is 60 years and everything is carried out according to organic principles: the grapes are handpicked and there is very little intervention in the cellar.
Specialising in Gamay, the predominant grape of Beaujolais, Chateau Cambon produces both red and white wines. The estate's commitment to sustainable practices, combined with a hands-off approach in the cellar, results in wines that showcase a distinctive expression of the terroir. Chateau Cambon has played a significant role in shaping the modern narrative of Beaujolais wines, particularly those produced with a natural and organic philosophy.
