Why Cave selected it

Old-vine northern Crozes fruit on loess and decomposed granite, farmed organically and bottled with clarity and balance; tiny 2024 yields make it a distinctive, great-value white Rhône.

About the wine

Fermentation includes daily foot punching-down and pumping-over, followed by 15–22 days of maceration. The wine is aged for seven months, with 20% in old barrels and the rest in stainless steel and concrete. The result is a medium to full bodied wine with a silky texture and a long finish, offering complex notes of honey, truffle, and marshmallow.

About Domaine Laurent Habrard

Located in Gervans, north of Tain l'Hermitage, Domaine Laurent Habrard lies at the heart of the "northern" Crozes-Hermitage appellation, known for its granite-rich, steep slopes. A quarter of the vineyard is in the southern part of the appellation, where rolled pebbles from ancient glacial periods mix with red clay, while other plots span Gervans, Crozes-Hermitage, and Erôme, featuring granite soils with loess and clay. Since 2008, the estate has been fully organic, complemented by biodynamic practices such as composting and plant-based sprays. Agroforestry trials and climate adaptation strategies are also underway to ensure a sustainable future.
