Why Cave selected it

A benchmark organic Crozes-Hermitage that balances dark, spicy Syrah fruit with freshness and fine tannins; made with low-intervention methods and exemplary vineyard stewardship.

About the wine

The harvest at Domaine Laurent Habrard is done entirely by hand, ensuring careful selection of grapes. Vinification is gentle and traditional, with minimal inputs to allow the terroir and grape varieties to shine. For the past decade, red wines have been crafted without added sulphites, focusing on purity. This is such an enjoyable Syrah with spicy almost gingerbread notes with layers of dark fruits,. Enjoy now or cellar for 4-6 years.

About Domaine Laurent Habrard

Located in Gervans, north of Tain l'Hermitage, Domaine Laurent Habrard lies at the heart of the "northern" Crozes-Hermitage appellation, known for its granite-rich, steep slopes. A quarter of the vineyard is in the southern part of the appellation, where rolled pebbles from ancient glacial periods mix with red clay, while other plots span Gervans, Crozes-Hermitage, and Erôme, featuring granite soils with loess and clay. Since 2008, the estate has been fully organic, complemented by biodynamic practices such as composting and plant-based sprays. Agroforestry trials and climate adaptation strategies are also underway to ensure a sustainable future.
