The Riserva is crafted exclusively in exceptional vintages. The grapes undergo de-stemming and a gentle pressing before fermenting on the skins for around 15-18 days. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for three years. It’s then lightly filtered using a wide-grain process and matured for an additional six months in the bottle.
Notes on the producer
The Innocenti estate lies between Montepulciano and Montefollonico and consists of about 32 hectares of which 12 are vineyard. Steeped in history, the cellar buildings date back to end of the 13th century, are in the small, well-preserved medieval town of Montefollonico. Most of the estate is dedicated to the local Sangiovese.
