Why Cave selected it

A benchmark Chianti Classico Riserva from a historic estate: consistent quality, classic Sangiovese character, and excellent food versatility in a strong 2021 vintage.

About the wine

A blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino from 35+ year-old vines, grown in rocky, schistous clay soils at 250-300 meters altitude. The wine is fermented in stainless steel, aged for 18 months in French oak barriques and tonneau, followed by a minimum of 6 months in bottle. The result is a refined and balanced wine with rich depth.
