Why Cave selected it

Consistently delicious, minimal-intervention Catarratto that delivers bright, citrus-led refreshment and texture at great value—perfect for everyday drinking.

About the wine

The classic Ciello wines are a mainstay on the “natural” circuit for good reason as they are cracking value. Made from 100% Catarratto native to the island of Sicily, this white wine is bright and alive, like that of the Sicilian sunshine. The palate is textural and flavoursome with plenty to offer at its reasonable price. Can appear hazy in the glass as this is unfiltered and unfined

About Rallo

The Ciello Winery was founded in Marsala in 1860 by Don Diego Rallo, although today the estate is run by the Vesco family who took over in 1996. There are 100 organic hectares in total, all of which are in the DOCG of Alcamo, while the cellars are situated in an impressive 19th century building on Marsala's seafront. The company produces perhaps the best-known DOC wines of the region from local indigenous grapes including Nero d'Avola and Catarratto
