Here, the top 1er Cru "Frionnes" (40-60 year-old vines) is begun in tank, then aged for 10 months in 228 and 350 L oak barrels, 30% new and 70% two-year-old barrels. Lovely expression of St Aubin.

Notes on the producer

Established in the late 1970s by Michel Morey and his wife Fabienne, descendants of esteemed winemaking families in Chassagne-Montrachet, Morey-Coffinet embodies a legacy of excellence. Their son Thibault, now at the helm since 2009, champions a meticulous approach, transitioning to biodynamic viticulture in 2014, earning certification by 2015. With premier crus from southeast-facing hillsides, their whites epitomise Chassagne's essence, boasting fragrant aromas and potent minerality, while the reds exude the terroir's roasted, muscular characteristics with silky textures and balance. Thibault's commitment to vine care ensures complexity and ageing potential, complemented by a nuanced oak regimen reflecting each vintage. The wines, vibrant and expressive, underscore a gentle evolution towards heightened quality in the Côte de Beaune's winemaking landscape.
