About Ca'Liptra

Founded in 2012, Ca’Liptra emerges from the collaboration of four partners who honed their craft at prestigious wineries such as La Distesa, Pievalta, and Fattoria Le Terrazze, either through enology school or on-the-job experience. The name Ca’Liptra, derived from the botanical term for the protective cap over flowering grapevine parts, signifies "house of" combined with the partners' initials. Nestled in Cupramontana, within the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi denomination, the estate's vineyards in the San Michele contrada boast unique, ancient soils rich in limestone and gypsum, fostering wines characterized by concentration, verve, salinity, and length. Spread across five hectares, the seven parcels of old vines, some dating back to 1948, are predominantly planted with Verdicchio, Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia Toscana/Romagnola, Montepulciano, and a touch of Sangiovese, cultivated organically to restore balance and respect the land's integrity. In the cellar, guided by intuition rather than lab analysis, the ragazzi, despite their professional expertise as enologists elsewhere, craft wines that authentically express the terroir of San Michele with a distinct, personal touch
