About Forjas del Salnés
Forjas del Salnés began in a garage in 2005, bringing together Rodrigo Méndez’s local knowledge and Raúl Pérez’s winemaking experience. Its name honours the Méndez family’s ironworking heritage. Alongside Albariño, the project preserves traditional Galician red varieties, with vineyards around Meaño, Sanxenxo and Barro.
In the vineyard
Preserving old vines and local varieties in small Atlantic-influenced plots, with close attention to each site.
In the cellar
Native-yeast fermentation and patient lees ageing, using large old oak vessels and stainless steel to retain fruit and freshness.
Cave on Forjas del Salnés
Galician wines with coastal freshness, texture and a clear connection to local grape varieties.
