Pierrick Bouley’s 2021 Bourgogne Côte d’Or is a finely detailed and expressive Pinot Noir sourced from vineyards in Volnay and Monthélie. Fermented with partial whole clusters and aged in older oak, the wine presents aromas of wild cherry, crushed raspberry, and forest floor. The palate is sleek and lifted, with fine-grained tannins, vivid red fruit, and subtle spice. A fresh, elegant red Burgundy that offers real precision and charm at the regional level.
Notes on the producer
Pierrick Bouley is a rising star based in Volnay, representing the sixth generation of his family to work the vines. Since taking over the domaine in the mid-2010s, he has garnered attention for his sensitive, terroir-driven approach to Pinot Noir. Bouley practices sustainable farming and employs minimal intervention in the cellar, using native yeasts, limited new oak, and gentle extraction methods. His wines are celebrated for their clarity, balance, and refined structure, often showing a level of finesse that belies their appellation. Even his entry-level cuvées reflect a deep respect for the land and a confident, thoughtful hand in the cellar.
