Why Cave selected it

An expressive, lighter Jura red with bright fruit and earthy character, made by a grower whose careful vineyard work gives the wine its individuality.

About the wine

Philippe Chatillon’s JAB 2022 is a light, characterful Jura red, bottled as Vin de France. Predominantly Pinot Noir, with a small proportion of white grapes, it offers bright red fruit and an earthy, mineral edge.

Expect cherry and redcurrant, lively freshness and a supple, easy-drinking feel. Serve slightly cool alongside charcuterie, roast chicken or mushrooms.

After 18 years managing Domaine de la Pinte in Arbois, Philippe founded his own domaine in 2013. Based in Poligny, he farms organically and biodynamically, favouring patient, hands-on work in the vines and gentle winemaking. His son Anatole joined him in 2019.

How it is made

Predominantly Pinot Noir with a small proportion of white grapes. The domaine works with natural fermentation, without chaptalisation or added yeasts, and bottles without fining or filtration. Exact maceration, ageing and sulphur additions for JAB 2022 are not confirmed.

Vineyard & terroir

From the Jura in eastern France. Philippe Chatillon farms small parcels organically and biodynamically around Passenans, Arbois and Château-Chalon. The precise parcel and soil composition for JAB 2022 are not confirmed.
