This Saint-Péray is made from 100% 25 year old Marsanne vines on clay-limestone soils.The grapes are hand harvested before fermentation in stainless steel tank. The wine is then transferred to barrel for 12 months of ageing before bottling. So delicious with layers of nuts ,dried fruits and lemon peel an absolute treat with fresh buttered lobster.
Notes on the producer
Domaine Mickaël Bourg, nestled in Cornas in the northern Rhône Valley, has been run by Mickaël since he took over in the family Domaine in 2002. The family run vineyard is biodynamically farmed and the wines produced are stunning. The granite soils give distinct mineral notes to the wines. Wild fermentation is used using the wild yeasts in the vines and winery and he uses large barrels for ageing.
