Why Cave selected it

A fresh new-generation Vouvray that balances Chenin’s natural texture with properly vibrant acidity. It is distinctive, versatile at the table and offers excellent value for organically farmed Loire white.

About the wine

Tasting Notes

Pear and crisp apple are joined by a distinctive toasted-buckwheat note. The palate begins round and gently textured, then tightens around vibrant Chenin acidity, finishing dry, energetic and clean.

Producer

Goustine is a small estate in Noizay, in the heart of Vouvray, working around six hectares of Chenin Blanc organically. The domaine favours hand harvesting, indigenous fermentations and minimal additions to make clear, contemporary expressions of its clay-limestone terroir.

How it is made

A dry, still Vouvray from hand-harvested Chenin Blanc, fermented with indigenous yeasts and made with minimal additions. The exact 2025 fermentation vessel is not published; the wine is sealed under DIAM.

Vineyard & terroir

The Chenin Blanc comes from Noizay, where silty topsoils lie over clay and limestone. This combination gives Le XX both its rounded texture and the firm acidity and chalky drive associated with dry Vouvray.
