Tasting Notes
Château Ste Anne Bandol Blanc 2023 is a rare white from a region famed for its reds, offering a beautifully balanced expression of southern Provençal freshness and depth. Expect aromatic layers of stone fruit, anise, and greengage, wrapped around a core of savory minerality and vibrant acidity. Aged in neutral vessels to preserve freshness, this wine reflects the maritime influence and limestone-rich soils of the Bandol terroir.

Notes on the Producer

A family-run estate since the 1960s, Château Ste Anne is a historic and highly regarded domaine in Bandol. Now led by Françoise Dutheil and her son Jean-Baptiste, the estate was one of the first in the region to adopt organic viticulture and has long championed low-intervention winemaking. With around 15 hectares under vine nestled in an amphitheater of limestone hills, the domaine produces wines with a marked elegance and tension.

Their whites, though limited in production, have earned a cult following for their freshness and complexity. The blend is typically dominated by Clairette, with Ugni Blanc adding structure and lift. Minimal sulfur use, indigenous yeast fermentation, and aging in old foudres or concrete tanks preserve purity and terroir expression. The wines are built to age gracefully, gaining savory, herbal, and saline complexity over time.
