About the wine

Tasting Notes

A lively, dry pét-nat with delicate bubbles and plenty of freshness. Green apple, pear and lemon peel are joined by white blossom and a gentle bready note. Light in feel but not lacking texture, with bright acidity and a clean, stony finish.

Producer

Bret Brothers is the négociant project of Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret, the brothers behind Domaine de la Soufrandière in the Mâconnais. They work with carefully chosen, organically farmed vineyards, harvesting the fruit themselves and vinifying each parcel with the same attention given to their estate wines.

Cuvée Zen is made from Chardonnay using the ancestral method. The grapes are gently pressed and fermentation begins naturally before the wine is bottled with a small amount of sugar still remaining. Fermentation then finishes in bottle, creating the wine’s fine sparkle. It is later disgorged and recapped, resulting in a fresh, expressive sparkling Chardonnay with no unnecessary heaviness.
