Domaine Luneau-Papin

Loire France

Pierre Luneau and Monique Apin hail from generations deeply rooted in winemaking traditions. In 1993, they founded Domaine Luneau-Papin in Le Landreau, nestled in the heart of Muscadet country, where vineyards sprawl across low hills, punctuated by quaint hamlets. With a lineage tracing back to the early 18th century, the estate has always been dedicated to Melon de Bourgogne, the sole grape of the Muscadet appellation. Pierre reminisces about his grandfathers' fervor for winemaking, recalling their Burgundian-inspired techniques of fermenting and aging in small barrels. "Parcels were vinified separately, and as I child I remember when you came to visit my dad, you came to taste different terroirs. It's a beautiful region to make wine, and Melon is a grape that really captures the minerality of a soil".
