Château Mourgues du Grès
Rhône Valley France
A former agricultural estate of the Ursulines de Beaucaire since the 16th century, the estate owes its name to the nuns called ‘Mourgues’ in the Provençal language.‘Grès’ comes from the rounded rocks of the Costières de Nîmes that give our wine their character. All their actions, be it in the vineyard or the cellar, are guided by the mindfulness of nature, and respect for the terroir and the environment being certified organic since 2004. The ‘Galet’ are reminiscent of their terroir of rounded stones known as ‘grès’. Modelled by the moraine of the Rhône glacier in the Quaternary Period, they characterise the Costières de Nîmes in the south of the Rhône Valley.
