Fermented and aged in tank for between 12-18 months. No oak ageing is involved. This is a good value ripe wine with luscisous dark fruit flavours and a touch of herbiness reminiscent of the local garrigue. Langedoc wines generally represent great value for money and this is no exception.
Notes on the producer
The 60-hectare Chateau Ollieux Romanis is situated at Monseret in the heart of the Boutenac region of the Corbieres and has been in the Bories family since the mid 19th century. The vines are planted on red clay soil and face south east on a sheltered hillside. The winery and wine cellar were built in 1896; these buildings were built from stone quarried from within the property and they still stand proud today.
