Marc Colin’s 2023 Saint-Aubin Luce is a bright, mineral-driven Chardonnay that captures the precision and lift of this cool-climate terroir. From southeast-facing limestone-rich vineyards, the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in mostly used oak barrels. Aromas of white peach, lemon zest, and fresh herbs lead to a palate marked by crisp acidity, stony tension, and a subtle creamy texture. A focused and elegant white Burgundy with great vibrancy and finesse.
Notes on the producer
Marc Colin is one of the benchmark domaines of Saint-Aubin, with holdings that extend into Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. Founded in the 1970s, the estate is now managed by three of Marc’s children, including Damien and Caroline, who have upheld a reputation for producing pure, terroir-expressive Chardonnays. The Colins practice sustainable viticulture and are known for a restrained cellar approach: native yeast fermentation, minimal new oak, and no bâtonnage. Their wines are celebrated for their energy, mineral backbone, and age-worthiness—particularly their bottlings from high-altitude and Premier Cru sites.
