Why Cave selected it

From a tiny, historic parcel on Les Rocoules and farmed organically, this is benchmark white Hermitage—opulent yet balanced, with distinctive site expression and real ageing potential.

About the wine

Laurent employs traditional methods, including foot treading for gentle extraction and minimal sulphur use, resulting in an exceptional wine. Grapes are handpicked, gently pressed, and fermented in temperature controlled vats before ageing in three-year-old French oak barrels. Top tier Marsanne with complex layers of toasted nuts, candied fruits and brioche. Fantastic!

About Domaine Laurent Habrard

Located in Gervans, north of Tain l'Hermitage, Domaine Laurent Habrard lies at the heart of the "northern" Crozes-Hermitage appellation, known for its granite-rich, steep slopes. A quarter of the vineyard is in the southern part of the appellation, where rolled pebbles from ancient glacial periods mix with red clay, while other plots span Gervans, Crozes-Hermitage, and Erôme, featuring granite soils with loess and clay. Since 2008, the estate has been fully organic, complemented by biodynamic practices such as composting and plant-based sprays. Agroforestry trials and climate adaptation strategies are also underway to ensure a sustainable future.
