Why Cave selected it

Expressive amphora‑fermented Lazio white from a small, certified biodynamic estate; textured yet fresh, offering distinctive regional character and value.

About the wine

Manually harvested grapes are spontaneously fermented in open Amphora befofe fining for 9 months in Georgian Qvevri and bottled the summer after bottling with no additions. This is a bright & fragrant style of skin contact wine with a complex bouquet with surprising freshness.

Notes on the producer

The Estate was bought by Riccardo’s Great Granfather at the end of XIX Century. He was making wine for several typical Osterie Romane (which are the most authentic spots where to taste the local cuisinein Rome) until the 1980s when Alberto, Riccardo’s Father, started confering all the grapes to the Cantina Sociale Fontana Candida.

In 2015, Riccardo Magno, Advertising producer, helped by his wine Maria, Photographer, decided to convert 100% organic Magno’s Estate . In 2016 they met Michele Lorenzetti, Brillant Biodynamic consultant and oenologue too; this year was exaclty the turning point for their family run Winery. The old cellar set underground in a cave was restored and some Anphoras and casks were bought in order to have everything ready to kick off with La Torretta’s very first vintage: 2018.
