Why Cave selected it

Approachable, great‑value orange wine: certified‑organic fruit, gentle 10‑day skin contact for texture without heaviness, fresh citrus‑floral profile, and a versatile 12.5% ABV for summer sipping or food.

About the wine

An easy way into orange wine, with plenty to keep you coming back. Made from organically grown Grenache Blanc, Salamandre spends ten days on its skins, giving it gentle grip alongside peach, orange zest and delicate floral notes. Dry and fresh, with a touch of spice, it has enough texture to hold its own at the table without feeling heavy.

Serve lightly chilled with grilled fish, ratatouille or a plate of charcuterie. A characterful, excellent-value bottle for curious newcomers and regular orange wine drinkers alike.

About Château Saint Cyrgues

The 40-hectare Chateau Saint Cyrgues is based in the village of Saint-Gilles in the Costieres de Nimes appellation and is run along organic lines by Guy de Mercurio. The region received full appellation status in 1986 and although notionally in the eastern Languedoc it shares the same terroir as the southern Rhone, i.e. galet stones and sandstone.
