This box houses a collection of tasty wines from across the broad spectrum of the Languedoc. Sparkling, rose, reds and whites, this case has it all!
What's in the box:
Etienne Fort, Monsieur S, NV
Étienne’s chardonnay based Crémant is a slightly more complex sparkling wine, sourced once again from low-yielding vines at high altitude (450m) which helps to preserve freshness and cut. Wild yeast fermentation in old demi-muids is followed by 6 months ageing in the same demi-muids, the wine is then being bottled off for the secondary fermentation and 12 months ageing on the lees. Disgorged with zero dosage. One of our stock favourite Cremant's that is always a pleausre to drink.
Chateau Ollieux Romanis, Cuvee Classique Rose, 2021
The vines are planted on red clay soil and face south east on a sheltered hillside. Carignan is king here and this particular rose is a blend of hand-harvested Carignan with a little Syrah and Grenache. Spicy with a savoury edge, this is ideal with richly flavoured rustic dishes.
Toques & Clochers, Limoux, 2021
A serious Chardonnay that could be mistaken for a top burgundy, this wine really packs a lot in. The diligent use of new oak provides some spicy, nutty flavours alongside a lemony, peachy fruitfulness, with lees ageing adds a lovely richness also.
Mas Des Caprices, Aud'Ace, 2021
A blend of Pinot Noir from Alsace and Grenache from Fitou in the Languedoc. Fermented and aged in a mix of concrete and stainless steel tank. Unfiltered and just a pinch of sulphur added. An interesting blend makes for a delightful wine. Juiciness coming from the carbonically macerated Pinot and a bit of body and structure from the Grenache.
Chateau Ollieux Romanis, Petit Fantet Hippolyte Blanc, 2022
Ripe and aromatic with a waxy texture. It is big and bold and will quite easily stand up to big and bold flavours on the plate.
Grange Des Rocs, Picpoul De Pinet, 2022
An amazingly refreshing, apple laden version of the classic Picpoul from the wonderful Grange des Rocs winery in the Languedoc. Clean, crisp unoaked and nicely dry, this is the pefect partner for anything shellfish.
