The Domaine Hughes Beguet winery is located in Mene, a small village
adjacent to Arbois. It was born in 2009 when the oenologist Patrice
Beguet abandoned the urban life of Paris and returned to the
countryside with his wife, Caroline Hughes, an Englishwoman. The couple
bought 4.5 hectares of vineyards in the Arbois appellation at over 300
meters above sea level, including one of the most coveted slopes of
Arbois, Le Corvet.
They have just under 5 hectares of vines in Arbois. They are committed
to biodynamic viticulture, sowing wild flowers, legumes and native
fruits between the vines, and also keeps bees to encourage
biodiversity. Fermented with wild yeasts and made with minimal
intervention in the cellar, their wines are always captivating and
