Crème De Cassis, Black Cherry, Coffee

is a classically styled blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. Displaying the excellent characteristics of the vintage, it is exuberant, exotic and generous, with abundant notes of crème de cassis, black cherry, coffee, tar, truffles and graphite. Typical of Margaux, delicate, with a characteristic elegant bouquet of vanilla and ripe fruit. It develops finesse as it ages.

Notes on the Producer

Château Kirwan's vines still grow on exactly the same plots as when the vineyard was classified at the top of the Médoc third crus classés in 1855. The Schÿler family who manage the property have maintained their links with Denmark. The Schröders and the Schÿlers are Denmark's consuls in Bordeaux.The vineyard consists of a 35 hectare single block of vines, and enjoys an excellent aspect, with a high point of 20 metres on the Cantenac plateau. The vines planted include a significant proportion of Petit Verdot (10%).
