Domaine des Buis’s fer servadou/cab franc is light-bodied and very fresh. Light red and slightly cloudy in the glass, its slightly earthy scent gives way to beautifully spicy, herbal notes, with a wild berry tingle on the tongue. Just the right side of funky once opened it you will devour this.

Notes on the producer

Pauline Broqua may be relatively new to winemaking, but the complexity and depth of this wine betrays no lack of confidence. Pauline made the switch from sommelier to vigneron in 2018 and expanded her Domaine des Buis to 7 hectares in 2019. Deeply committed to natural techniques, she uses no chemical additives and cultivates several different varieties. Alongside rows of cabernet franc, negret de banhars, and chenin grows a grape particular to a certain part of inland southwest France: known as braucol in Gaillac, it goes by the name fer servadou in the area around the town of Marcillac-Vallon, in the department of Aveyron. A rustic red from the true French countryside.
